Hard Surfaces and Organic Modeling Final: Robot

Here's the robot I made for my final. I spent more than 60+ hours probably on this... a lot of trial and error, but I've learned a lot. My render got a little messed up at the bottom, so please ignore the sphere and the shadow cutting in and out. I will probably go back to fix several of the polys and add more detail, plus re-render (of course). I plan to later rig this too and hopefully use it for something more awesome :)

Special thanks to Grant for lighting my scene! <3

Digital Ink and Paint: SANTA!

Here's the next project I'm working on for Digital Ink and Paint. We had to take some dialogue and animate to it. This is obviously just the roughs... there's still a lot of work to be done for this!
(The dialogue is from Elf. Love that movie!)

Hard Surfaces: Midterm Balloon

Hey! Made this for my midterm project. I didn't get to do all the details I wanted because time was up, but I'm still happy with the overall geometry.

Digital Ink and Paint: Background

Hey! Check out this background I made in Flash. It's a Chinese themed kitchen, just for fun ;P Hope you like it.

Hard Surfaces: SoapCar

Hey, so here is my model for Hard Surfaces and Organic Modeling. It's a soapbox car but Corvette style.

Thanks Mike for helping me with the lighting :)

Digital Ink and Paint: Character Turn Around

O riginal character, complete with a turn around. Despite the pikachu look alike comments, I really like the character. I have to edit the ears because they are slightly off.

Background Design

This is the first assignment from Background and Layout Design. We had to draw a building and background. Originally, I sort of wanted it to be a sort of aircraft carrier, but now I'm not quite sure what it is. Overall, it came out a lot better than I thought it would be, but I still need a lot of practice when drawing backgrounds. At least I have the rest of the quarter to improve :)

Any critique would be much appreciated!

3D Animation: Final Project

Yay! Just finished this earlier today. I'm a lot happier with the outcome than I thought I would be. Unfortunately, I wish I had done some of the transitions different and changed a few things with the actual animating itself. But overall, I'm rather pleased :)

Any feedback is much appreciated!

Storyboarding: Midterms

Here's a background I did for Storyboarding class. I'm working hard to get that painting technique down and slowly getting there I think. I wish I could have made the scene more interesting, but this is what the interior looked like. I'm thinking upping the contrast might make it really pop... might edit later! The quality of the one on here is bad fyi; the original isn't that pixelated.

3D Animation: Another Bouncing Ball?

Okay so I think I'm starting to get the hang of the Graph Editor. This wasn't as frustrating as the last one, but I did have some issues. Hopefully this process will progressively get easier.

This was our midterm assignment for 3D Animation... At least I think it's a midterm.
Open for comments and critique :)

3D Animation - Annoying Balls

I have a new appreciation for traditional 2D Animation. I had so much trouble with the Graph Editor in Maya. It wouldn't listen to me. But overall... I'm still pleased with the outcome. I just wish I knew Maya better, or that the Graph Editor would work, so that I could have done more. Next time!

Finals Again! Q4

Finals week again. Here's something I've been working on for the past week or two! Had to model a bathroom interior. I'm pretty pleased with it... I think I may even go back to add all the extra details I didn't get to put in.
Special thanks to Ronald and Julio!

3D Principles

Here's the next project that we're working on in 3D Principles. Been really busy recently, so sorry for the lack of updates.

Anyway, this is mid-texturing/lighting... I still have a lot of details to model, but I figured I'd share what I have regardless.

Fruit Fun!

HUGE thanks to Manny for teaching me how to texture. I wouldn't have been able to make this without his expertise!

Curse you NURBs!

Just finished working on this. First time working with NURBs ... never have I hated fruit so much!

3D Principles

Wow, Maya's kinda confusing! Just had my first taste of it yesterday. Finished my homework at school since I don't have the program at home... Anyway here's what I made. The utensils took me FOREVER. I'm sure there was an easier way to make them!

Special thanks to Fred and Steve yesterday for helping me out!

I might go back and change up the legs of the table. They're a bit dull.

Finals Week

It is finally finished!

Here's some of the stuff I've done this quarter for all of you who want to see. I got very little sleep and food this week.

Just want to thank my friends for keeping me going and keeping me fed!

2D Principles: Kung Fu Animatics

Animatics for our final project in animation! Meaning, this is the storyboard with the timing in. There are some more anticipation things I'll have to add, but this is the general idea. A guy with a staff just throws up four balls and then breaks them in the air before they break.

Sketch to Rendering

This is from Quarter 2, but my friend just modeled it!
I made this sketch for our Acting and Movement class, and my friend Manny modeled it ... in Maya I think? :) Make sure you check out his blog too!

The people at AI are amazing!

Character & Object Design - Tweak It

This is Tweak, the opossum, a toon I did for Character & Object Design.
Did this in about five mins in Photoshop. Looked better than my attempts to make her look realistic. She just doesn't look right that way!

2d Animation - Flour Sacks!

I had to do this for Wattana's class. Pretty simple! And it didn't take me too long either :) Less than expected

Sculpture Stuff

Here are some armatures I made for sculpture. The dinosaur looking one has clay on it now though.
Based off from original character turn arounds.
